What Do I Need to Bring?

Basically, we supply just about everything that you'll need to enjoy a day on the water.  We'll have a cooler with ice on board, soft drinks of your choice, and usually we'll have a thermos or two of black coffee.  If you want to bring snacks along, that's fine.  Arrangements can also be made with your guide to break for lunch and visit one of our local eateries (if you would like to take time out we could do a shore lunch for an extra charge).

Things that you should have along are:

  • Clothes appropriate for the weather...  Up here that can be anything from shorts and tee shirt to snowmobile suits and warm, winter boots.  I'd suggest that you use one of the weather forecasting services available on the Internet and check the extended forecast for the 54501 zip code.  We also post the Rhinelander area weather forecast on the bottom of this page.  While the "Weather Guessers" don't always get it right, it'll give you some clue as to what the weather is going to be.
  • A Baseball type cap and decent polarized sunglasses...  The sun (when we have it) can be brutal when you're on the water.
  • If you have a favorite brand of sunscreen, I'd suggest you bring that also (see above).
  • If you are of unusual stature or girth, a wearable life jacket that fits should be brought along.  Wisconsin boating regs require this...  So do we.
  • Most of all, you need to bring an open mind.  My job as your guide is to show you what works.  Talk to us, we'll tell you what is needed and what is not for your particular trip.
